Skydive DeLand – DeLand is the “Skydiving Capitol of the World,” and whether you’re a daredevil or a spectator, Skydive DeLand–and the Perfect Spot restaurant and bar–is an incredible place to spend the afternoon. Just make sure the weather’s nice!

DeLand Naval Air Station Museum – “Where History Takes Flight” – This museum is dedicated to the men and women that have served in America’s armed conflicts. The airport-based museum houses historic military memorabilia as well as numerous aircrafts used in historical battles (you’ll love seeing a dive-bomber firsthand)!

Museum of Art (Formerly the Museum of Florida Art) – The Museum of Art in DeLand, Florida features a rotating selection of compelling exhibitions. Enjoy a walk along Downtown DeLand towards Stetson, and treat yourself to a cool blast of air conditioning and some incredible art when you reach your destination.

African American Museum of Art – The AAMA is dedicated to showcasing the artistic excellence that is reflected primarily in the African American and Caribbean American cultures. Enjoy works that span from visual, to literary and performance art at this fantastic museum.

Hand Art Center – Right on Stetson’s campus, next to the Duncan Gallery of Art, you’ll find the Hand Art Center, which has a rotating schedule of exhibitions from nationally recognized artists as well as notable works by Stetson professors and art majors. The walk is well worth the destination, and it will give you a glimpse into the beautiful campus of the “Harvard of the South.”

Gillespie Museum – This rock and mineral museum features a fascinating collection of rare and standard geological formations and fragments. You cannot walk away from this museum without learning something, and the hands-on approach is a nice refresher after a day visiting “look-don’t-touch” art museums.

DeLand House Museum – The Henry A. DeLand House Museum will give you an understanding of the history of our town and how it became what it is today. Just across the street from Stetson, it’s an easy destination to work into your afternoon out in DeLand.

DeLand Memorial Hospital Museum – Located on Stone Street, a few blocks from downtown, the DeLand Memorial Hospital Museum offers guided tours and seminars dealing with the medical industry of old. Labeled as a “gem,” the museum is not always running tours, so please call before you head over to see what the buzz is all about.
